So Washington State's best beer ended up 27th in our rankings, which suprised me even though I haven't had a ton of their beers. Their reputation is strong, at least. Seattle's the beer destination ballpark I haven't been to, at the very least. And Yakima valley produces the meaty portion of our hops.
But I'll admit one thing: it looks like I've never had a prominent Washington beer. No Elysian, no Freemont, no Georgetown, and certainly none of the smaller ones. Okay, I've had a Mike's Hard Lemonade at some point in my life, but otherwise, I might not have had a Seattle beer.
And so I think it's probably distribution that's lacking for the Washington beer scene. I checked the top five breweries on Seekabrew, and while Pike gets out of the state, Elysian was the only one that showed in California.
So: I got to get on Seekabrew, and Washington beers have to get some distro. Because they're supposedly really good beers.
