We're all about New York City Beer Week on the front pages, but we don't have a budget to send me there yet. So, for me, it's about the one-day beer tour I've been planning with some friends in Santa Cruz. Here's a link, but it's kind of beautiful looking so I took a screen grab.
So yeah that's Santa Cruz Mountain Brewing, Santa Cruz Ale Works, Discretion Brewing, Beer Thirty, Sante Adairius Rustic Ales (my highlight), Seabright Brewery, and something that calls itself psychadelic soul at the end. 20 miles, a bunch of dudes on bikes, and a full day of drinking. Glad it's only 125 feet of incline because I might be tempted to LOOK MA NO HANDS it down the mountain.
Some of my buddies down there claim Discretion is the better part of this valor, but I can't believe it's not Sante Adairius. We'll see how much reportage I can manage with the bugs in my teeth and the sweat in my eyes and the beer in my glass.
