SABMillerAnheuserBuschInBEV

Eno Sarris, October 08, 2015 -

AB-InBev is trying to buy SABMillerCoors. They've been trying for a while. But now it seems like it might actually happen. Or maybe not. But the bigger one is going to keep trying to buy the little one, so it'll probably eventually happen.

One piece thought to point out that this would combine eight of the top ten beer brands in the world, and holy heck how does that not come afoul of some anti-trust laws in some country somewhere.

I think it's much worse. They'd be combining the following brands into one company, and that's only counting the ones they admit to on their websites.

You may recognize the flagship beer for most countries on this list. You might now understand why, when you drink OB in Korea, you think, hey, this tastes like Korean Bud Light. You may understand now why you've been underwhelmed by certain German brands that have made their way into your beer store. You may understand a little better why beer is so bad when you're on the road.

Or you may just be overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude of this list. Which you should be, because these bohemoths have bought up half the world. If you think this sort of thing is not a big deal, maybe this list will sober you on the thought.

Or maybe it won't. It's been a long time since I've had anything on this list. Maybe it won't matter to put them in all in one corporate umbrella.
