Last weekend, I got a cold the day a package of beer arrived. Just a frigging tragedy, man.
I convinced myself I wasn't sick long enough to have a Lawson's Super Session (better than Easy Jack!), a Trillium Double Dry Hopped Melcher Street (just frigging perfect), and a Night Shift The 87 (huge and tropical and beautiful), but there was a ton I had to leave in the fridge.
That was tragedy enough, but then I was headed to the Winter Meetings for Major League Baseball, which features the best bar scene in the world if you ask me. High level baseball conversations deep into the night, over craft beverage? The best I found was Green Flash West Coast IPA (sorta 1.0 for me at this point), and I couldn't drink for two of the three nights I was there, but I managed to get a little taste of that action at least.
I hate colds. I wish there was like a ginger beer that had vitamin c in it and zync and made you better while tasting good. That doesn't exist now, right?
Until then, colds will get in the way of good times.
