The Beer Release Round Up, 4/11/2014

Blake Smith, April 11, 2014
  1. Surly is throwing another beer release party for their latest release (do they always do this?). About this beer: "Schadenfreude is a German word for shameful joy, taking pleasure in the suffering of others. Utilizing German Munich, Vienna and Caramunich malts, this dark (Dunkel) lager has rich bread and toffee flavors balanced by a soft bitterness. Additional aging on toasted Minnesota oak makes Schadenfreude a one of a kind Dunkel."
  2. Planning on visting Brazil any time soon? If so pick up Evil Twin's 2 newest Brazillian offerings, it's likely your best above replacement option. But this got me thinking, what beer do you drink when you are on vacation, in an area with sparse beer offerings.
  3. "Bear Repubic is adding its award-winning Grand Am American pale ale to its year-round bottle lineup, replacing the XP Pale Ale."
  4. I teased this a few weeks back when Lagunitas released their 2014 release schedule, but now it appears Nightime is in the bottle and ready to be distributed. It's a black IPA and bascially the opposite of the Daytime session.
  5. Couple releases from Flying Dog Brewery worth noting: Amarillo Single Hop Imperial IPA & Mint Chocolate Stout.
  6. Black Magic Panther from Westbrook Brewing Company will recieve limited distro within parts of South Carolina.
  7. Old Chub from Oskar Blues will now be nitro-canned!
  8. "Releasing this Monday, April 14th! The second AleSmith/Cigar City collaboration brew, Ramblin' Rye!"
  9. Boneyard and Widmer Bros teamed up to release Blacklight IPA, a session black ale.
  10. Check out the latest Smoked Porter variant from Stone: Stone Smoked Porter - Chipotle Peppers.
