Hey, everyone, I’m Matt. I’m the dev. team here at BeerGraphs, and a co-founder. You won’t hear too much from me, but when you do, it’ll be about the site’s guts.
I’d like to talk briefly about our plans for our leaderboards, and what we’re planning to bring in the near future. BeerGraphs’ leaderboards, powered by BAR, are maybe its most important feature, and we’re planning on expanding them. Here’s what we have in mind:
Sorting and filtering
In the upcoming weeks, we’ll also be extending the functionality of our leaderboards with two new features:
- Filtering by beer, brewery, or geographic space, IBU, SRM, and ABV
- Search (by the aforementioned categories)
Soon, we’ll have IBU and SRM data for much of our beer database. This should give us a more detailed look at the beer itself, beyond alcoholic content and popularity.
These new leaderboard features should make our research (and yours) more accessible and, ideally, more revealing. We’ll be rolling out mobile leaderboards, too, so that you can easily look up BAR while perusing aisles at the store or at the bar.
So, with this in mind, I’d like to hear what you’d like from our leaderboards and from BeerGraphs. Leave comments about what you’d like to see come to the site, and we’ll do what we can to make it happen.
